Driver suspected of stealing a taxi cab taken into custody at Artesia Transit Station in Gardena, California

A person was taken into custody Thursday morning suspected of stealing a taxi cab and driving it on Los Angeles freeways and streets. Police followed the suspect for a while before the driver surrendered and was taken into custody by the Artesia Transit Station in Gardena, California around 7:00 a.m. The cab was stolen when the original driver got out of the vehicle after picking up a passenger in Glendora. The identity of the suspect is not yet released.
