Two LAPD Officers in Serious Condition After Crash.

Two Los Angeles Police Department officers were in serious condition Monday morning after a crash involving their unmarked patrol vehicle and a sport utility vehicle in the Atwater Village area north of downtown Los Angeles.
Two Los Angeles Police Department officers were in serious condition Monday morning after a crash involving their unmarked patrol vehicle and a sport utility vehicle in the Atwater Village area north of downtown Los Angeles. Four officers were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Two of those officers were taken to the hospital but were later released. Three people in the SUV also were hospitalized. The crash was reported at about 9 a.m. near Fletcher Drive and San Fernando Road, about six miles north of downtown Los Angeles. At least four ambulances and other emergency services vehicles responded to the intersection. Aerial video showed both the damaged SUV and patrol vehicle at the intersection. The two vehicles collided as the SUV traveled northbound on Fletcher Drive at what police described as "a high rate of speed."
