Monique Munoz, 32, killed in collision with speeding teen driver at Olympic Blvd. and Overland Ave. in West Los Angeles, California

The teenager, identified only as the son of James Khuri, a multimillionaire who owns several real estate firms and manufacturing companies, was driving at a “high rate of speed” when he slammed into another car in west Los Angeles on Feb. 17, LAPD Capt. Brian Wendling told the Los Angeles Times.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Monique Munoz’s family in the wake of her death in the Lamborghini-Lexus crash.

The deadly crash sparked an emotional firestorm online as people demand justice for Monique. Many claim the arrest of the 17-year-old driver was stalled due to the financial influence of his billionaire father.

The 17-year-old driver is set to be arraigned on April 23 after being arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter two months earlier. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office told ABC News that the specific charges can't be revealed until the arraignment hearing since the driver is a juvenile. 

The teenager will await his sentencing at home, a spokesperson for the DA's office said. His next court date is scheduled for June 30.
