City News Service reports the collision occurred early Sunday on the northbound I-5 in San Juan Capistrano, shortly after witnesses reported a white BMW traveling the wrong way on the northbound Interstate 405.

In San Juan Capistrano, Brian Bobadilla, 24, of Downey was found dead on the 5 near Ortega Highway at 1:44 a.m. after his BMW collided with a Toyota Camry, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Jose Lopez.

The BMW continued driving south in the wrong direction and onto the 5 freeway where he collided with a Toyota Camry between Avery Parkway and Ortega Highway.
