The pedestrian death was reported just after 5:15 a.m. near Highway 111 and Desert Horizons Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, was cooperative and showed no signs of impairment, Sgt. Deanna Pecoraro said.

It happened around 5:30 a.m. on Highway 111 between Cook and Eldorado outside of the Desert Horizon Country Club in Indian Wells.
