A crash involving a single golf cart on a Southern California course led to the arrest of an allegedly drunken cart driver whose intoxicated passenger had fallen out of the moving vehicle, authorities said. Jeffrey Rose, 35, of La Quinta, was arrested Sunday afternoon on suspicion of driving under the influence at La Quinta Resort/PGA West Club House, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release Monday. Police responded to the course about 5:30 p.m. Sunday to investigate a single-vehicle crash involving a golf cart. A drunken passenger of Rose's had fallen out of the golf cart while it was moving and further investigation revealed the driver of the golf cart was also intoxicated, authorities said. The passenger who fell from the cart was taken to a hospital as a precaution, officials said. Rose was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio and released Sunday on $2,500 bail, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department online inmate locator.
