Woman dies in head-on crash in Carmichael
CHP officials report Marcus Ashford, 22, was driving southbound with a woman passenger along Walnut when, for an unknown reason, he swerved into the two-way left turn lane toward a truck being driven by Nikolaus Berzins, 34.
Berzins was unable to avoid a collision with Ashford as the car he was driving entered the northbound lane in which Berzins was driving, according to CHP.
