Danielle was only able to hold Amai for a short time. Her recovery from broken bones and internal bleeding is still fragile, but her spirit just got a whole lot stronger.

Whatever Happened To Danielle Larude, The Mom Injured In Natomas By Suspected DUI Driver

After a month and a half hospital stay, her sister says Danielle is on the road to recovery. She’s out of the hospital and busy being a mom to Amai, who is now three months old, healthy and happy.

Just after 12:30pm, Danielle was driving a vehicle with her brother James and infant son Amai when they were caught in a six-vehicle pileup caused by an alleged drunk driver and rolled over. Danielle was critically injured with a broken pelvis, cracked spine, ruptured spleen and lacerated liver, and James also sustained some serious injuries including a collapsed lung and six broken ribs. Fortunately, Amai was properly restrained in a car seat and sustained only minor injuries. Danielle remains in intensive care at a local hospital.
