Traffic was shut down on SR-99 during the course of the investigation. It was reopened just before 10 a.m.

It is unknown when the collision occured, but police received report of a possible dead animal in on Highway 99 at about 6:00am. They soon discovered that it was a man in his 50's or 60's that had been hit, dragged 200ft, and killed in the process.
