Candlelight Vigil Remembers Sacramento Marine Killed In Suspected DUICrash

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A candlelight vigil was held on Friday for a 25-year-old Marine who was killed in a car crash. Brett Jones died on Thursday morning on a Highway 50 onramp after the car he was riding in crashed into the back of a big rig. His life was cut short early Thursday morning after he got into a car with fellow Sacramento State student 22-year-old Alexandra Jimenez at the wheel. The CHP says Jimenez had too much to drink and Jones wasn’t wearing his seat belt. According to the California Highway Patrol, a big rig was getting onto Highway 50 when Jimenez’s Toyota Scion traveling at an unknown speed apparently veered into the lane and slammed into the back of the truck.
