The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports (http://bit.ly/2c02lFx) the boy was riding in the bow of the power boat while it was pulling a water skier Saturday. The newspaper says when the boat operator made a sharp turn, the boy fell off and was struck by the boat.

Gideon Zilberstein, of Woodland Hills, was riding on the bow of the boat while it was pulling a skier when the accident occurred at about 4:20 p.m., said Olivia Bozek, a spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
