Driver Dead After Slamming Into Tour Bus

A driver slammed into the side of a tour bus in a Bloomington intersection on Easter Sunday, killing himself and injuring five bus passengers, officials said.

The 26-year-old driver of the vehicle was critically injured and transported to Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Four people were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.

Firefighters responded shortly before 7 p.m. to Valley Boulevard and Linden Avenue where the car struck the side of the bus, said Battalion Chief Steve Laseter of the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

A driver slammed his vehicle into the side of a tour bus on Valley Boulevard and Linden Avenue. Firefighters extricated him from his vehicle using the Jaws of Life, but he was found dead in his vehicle. Five people onboard the bus were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
