All lanes were shut down at around 4:30 p.m. Thursday after CHP officials said a driver in a sports car traveling in the wrong direction at a high rate of speed on the freeway struck two vehicles near La Jolla Village Drive.

Various Twitter posts stated that the driver of the McLaren, an expensive English sports car, had been banned from making e-sports products that had brought him a sizable income.

The teen was behind the wheel of a 2014 McLaren - a luxury car valued at $200,000 - driving northbound in the carpool lane of the southbound 805 around 4:35 p.m. when his vehicle slammed head-on into an SUV, authorities said.   

Pizarro set up a GoFundMe page[2] to support the family during this tough time, but also asked those aware of the story for their prayers.
