The highway lanes were open as of about 7:45 a.m., according to the authorities.

Ibarra reportedly wasn’t injured. 

A crash on Highway 29 near the Oakville Grade was reported to Napa County Highway Police at about 5:45 a.m. Monday. Faustino Ortiz of Napa was driving north behind another vehicle and pulled out into the southbound lane, apparently to pass, while a Vine bus, driven by Armando Ibarra, 42, of Napa, was driving south in the southbound lanes. Both drivers swerved but weren't able to avoid the collision. Ortiz’ Saturn hit the front of the Vine bus and was killed. The bus that was carrying no passengers.
