According to the California Highway Patrol, Joel Godinez-Avila, 18, died after he lost control of his Toyota Rav 4 on northbound Highway 85 just south of El Camino Real around 5:10 a.m. Sunday. The car veered to the right before striking a tree and a sound wall. Godinez-Avila died at the scene.
