Caltrain Service Delayed After Pedestrian Struck And Killed.
A woman was struck and killed by a train at Caltrain’s Redwood City station this morning, an agency spokeswoman said.
The woman was struck at about 6:15 a.m. by Caltrain No. 305 on the northbound tracks at the station located at 1 James Ave., a Caltrain spokeswoman said.
Train No. 305 had about 200 passengers on board and was not scheduled to stop at Redwood City. The train was eventually moved to the San Carlos station to allow the passengers to get off, then was taken to a maintenance facility in San Jose, Dunn said.
The station reopened as of about 9:50 a.m., but delays continued because Caltrain is only running trains on one track through the area according to Dunn.
Bus shuttles were set up to take passengers between the San Carlos and Menlo Park stations.
Some train routes were canceled while others have seen delays of up to 20 or more minutes.
