Police said the 21- year-old at the wheel of the other car, Angel Ivan Martinez, was traveling an estimated 90 mph when he struck the van where Michelle was sleeping with her dog outside the Hoen Avenue home where she rented a room.

Angel Martinez, 21, did not enter a plea to the charges, and Sonoma County Superior Court Judge Mark Urioste set his bail at $125,000. Martinez’s attorney Izaak Schwaiger said his client’s family was expected to post bail Wednesday afternoon.
