One Killed, Another in Serious Condition Following Crash South of Lompoc
Authorities say the crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. The scene is just south of Jalama Road. Highway 1 in the area was closed for several hours.

Santa Barbara County Fire says there was heavy fog in the area at the time of the crash.

Jaime, 32, of Lynwood, Calif., was on his way to work in Lompoc when his 2008 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck drifted over the double yellow lines near Jalama Road for unknown reasons and struck another pickup truck head on, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 32-year-old driver from Lynnwood was driving on Highway 1 around 6:30 a.m. when they crossed the solid double yellow line and struck a vehicle driven by Jason Wallace head on. Wallace had to be extricated before he could be transported to Cottage Hospital with major injuries. The other driver died at the scene.
