Thousand Oaks man killed in crash near CSU Channel Islands
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving westbound on Portero when, for reasons still under investigation, he failed to navigate a curve in the road. The vehicle traveled through the curve and the intersection of Portero and Old Hueneme before crashing into a concrete barrier, officials said.
The Thousand Oaks man, who was the vehicle's only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding identification pending family notification.
