The deceased woman's vehicle, a northbound silver Hyundai, and a black BMW headed south were involved in the crash, Marin said. The BMW, driven by a 39-year-old Lake Balboa woman, had been driving in the fast lane, authorities said.

Waleed Kilany, an investigator with the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office, identified the woman on Tuesday as Marilee Quinn, of Westlake Village. She died of multiple blunt-force injuries due to a head-on collision, Kilany said.
