Two people were killed and four injured when a dust storm set off a seven-vehicle crash on U.S.287 just south of Lamar on Wednesday night.
Dust Storm Causes Multiple Crashes On Highway 287
A total of 11 vehicles were involved and two people died on the scene. Colorado State Patrol said a dust storm is the cause.
Xiao Feng, 53, of Dallas, was traveling northbound when he entered the dust storm and stopped his vehicle. A semi-tractor collided with Feng's vehicle, killing him. Five vehicles crashed after the initial accident, and Caryol Heckman, 75, of McClave, was killed. Four other people were injured. The accident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
