Police say Carroll was hit by a car driven by 52-year-old Leonard Sanders of Middletown shortly after midnight Saturday.
Leonard Sanders, 52, of Middletown was driving westbound in a 2009 Chevrolet Impala on Washington Street toward Broad Street when he struck a female pedestrian at the intersection at about 12:56 a.m. on Sept. 27. Police described her as a white female who is about 40 years old, 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds. She has light brown hair with highlights, police said. The woman was transported to Hartford Hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries due to the collision.
