Police said a car went down the embankment near the Wethersfield and Hartford line on the northbound side of the highway, around 1 a.m. The road was closed for several hours for investigation, but has since reopened.

State police said Guzman and Rivera were traveling in the right northbound lane in a Buick Lacrosse and the vehicle swerved into the shoulder and hit a guardrail while on the Exit 86 off ramp.
