The operator of the bus and an unconfirmed number of passengers were reportedly taken to area hospitals with what is reported to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred around 5:45 a.m. when Caputo, who was driving a 2015 Jeep Latitude, was stopped on the westbound shoulder of Seashore Highway (SR404) west of Cannon Road. Caputo then made a U-turn from the westbound shoulder directly in front of the eastbound DART bus being driven by 46-year-old Estaban Vicente-Morales, of Georgetown.
