A woman was struck and killed by a SUV Wednesday while walking a dog outside a Southwest Washington apartment building, D.C. police said.

Frances M. Parsons 90, was struck and killed by a SUV Wednesday while walking a dog outside a Southwest Washington apartment building, D.C. police said.
The accident occurred near the entrance to a parking garage at Town Square Towers at 7th and G streets SW about 3:15 p.m., police said. The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead, said a police spokesman.
Authorities were investigating the cause of the crash. The dog was not injured, police said.
