A woman in a battery-powered wheelchair is being treated at an area hospital after she collided with a Metrobus Thursday morning.

Before noon, the U2 bus was turning right from Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue on to W Street in Southeast when it collided with the woman, who was crossing W Street. It's unclear who had the right of way.
Police and D.C. Fire and EMS found 43-year-old Sherea Smith next to the bus. She was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital.
The bus is out of service, and the driver is on leave while the incident is investigated. Per routine procedure, the driver will be given a toxicology test.
No injuries on the bus were reported.
Police are reviewing video from the bus and a nearby building.
