Person struck and injured by D.C. Metro transit train at the Dupont Circle station.

Metro trains were stopped on both sides of the Dupont Circle station Wednesday night for about 30 minutes after a person was struck by a train there, transit officials said. The accident on the Red Line was reported about 7:30 p.m. In a Twitter message about 30 minutes later, trains were single-tracking between the two stations on either side of Dupont Circle: Farragut North and Van Ness. Officials said that delays of up to 30 minutes could be expected. Officials had no immediate information about the person’s condition or the nature of the incident.
