Two people were killed Saturday morning after a passenger vehicle was involved in a crash with a Department of Public Works dump truck along DC Route 295 near Pennsylvania Avenue.

The driver of the Mitsubishi was not alive when officers got to the scene. The front-passenger of the car was taken to the hospital, where she died, authorities said. The rear passenger was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
