Shortly after 9 p.m., Brener Omar Llamas Rivera, 32, walked from the grassy median into West Ox Road north of Polo Drive as a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was approaching, Fairfax County police said. Police spokesman Roger Henriquez said that the driver, a 50-year-old Alexandria man, did not have time to stop before hitting Llamas Rivera.

According to police, the driver was not speeding or driving under the influence of alcohol and will not be charged with a crime nor identified.
