Plane crashes into empty Florida daycare building; 1 killed

The Lee County Sheriff's Office said that the Piper PA 28 aircraft crashed shortly after it took off from a nearby airfield. Lee County is located in southwest Florida.

The plane was a single-engine Piper Archer that belonged the Fort Myers Flying Club.

Surveillance video from a nearby business shows the plane flip as it hits the building. It burst into flames upon hitting the ground.

Scott, who lived in Cape Coral, was part of the Fort Myers Flying Club, along with the Anthony Greco, the pilot of the plane.
