Riding lawn mower driver killed Tuesday in collision with vehicle in Putnam County

A lawn mower rider was killed in a collision Tuesday just south of Melrose in Putnam County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident happened about 6:30 a.m. at Florida 21 and Baden Powell Road, said Sgt. Dylan Bryan. Bryan said the riding mower was apparently struck by the vehicle. Details of the crash, including names or gender of either driver were not immediately available.

FHP: Melrose man killed in lawn mower crash identified

The crash report says the red lawn mower was traveling westbound in an unlit portion of Baden Powell Road when a woman driving the Wrangler struck the rear of the lawn mower.
