According to the FHP accident report, Bald Eagle Road is not lighted. As part of the investigation, blood-alcohol tests on both Zimmerly and Klocek were conducted and the results area pending.
A 23-year-old riding a skateboard in the middle of a Fleming Island street early Saturday morning died after he was struck by a motorcycle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers say Kyle Klocek was on a skateboard in the westbound travel lane of Bald Eagle Road near Lake Terrance Lane about 1 a.m. when he was struck by a westbound motorcycle ridden by Arthur Zimmerly, of Jacksonville. Klocek died at the scene. The motorcycle overturned, throwing Zimmerly onto the road. He was transported to UF Health Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries. According to the FHP accident report, Bald Eagle Road is not lighted.
