The crash happened around 6:40 p.m. Friday.

Troopers said a motorcycle was eastbound on SR 115 service road from Arlington Road.

A report released by troopers says a Kia Forte driven by 29-year-old Matthew Bennett was exiting westbound SR 115 onto the service road. The motorcyclist did not yield the right-of-way to the Kia, resulting in a head-on collision.

However, a number of friends and fellow-riders have stated that Jason was wearing a helmet and that it must have been lost during the accident.

Let's try this. Mind your damn business and speak only on what you know. You are a disgrace to the human race as a whole. Motorcycles and the Navy have nothing to do with one another. Try respecting his family and that wanna be "motorcycle gang" as you call them showed up and showed out. Stop hiding behind posts and find something constructive to do before God calls you home.!!

He was obviously not wearing a helmet. His friends say he was, but it was "lost" at the scene? He knew he was supposed to wear ppe in the Navy. Maybe if he wasnt involved with a wannabe biker gang and doing what he was supposed to...i.e. wearing a helmet and yeilding to oncoming traffic he wouldnt have died. People like him ruin it for the real motorcycle riders in the Navy.

He was wearing a helmet,They always wanna blame the bikers because we have two less wheels than them.Whenwe loose a biker thats somebody child, daddy, mother, sitsister, son, bestfriend, husband, wife it is a human being regardless......Just like we show respect to cars show us bikers some respect and open your eyes.........PERIOD

I know Jason an I don't like the fact that the news, police Or who ever else are saying that he didn't have on a helmet.... If you saw his face you would know that's a lie

THE CRASH DIDN'T HAPPEN AT 6:40AM, AND JASON WAS WEARING A HELMET.

Jason was my cousin. May God rest his soul. This is tragic. My daily prayers are with my family.

I hate this may God be pleased with jason mcnair, he was a goood guy. this one hurts. be safe out there.
