Woman, 42, killed by hit-run driver in Fort Lauderdale

A 42-year old woman was killed Monday when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the 1400 block of West Sunrise Boulevard, police said. The driver of the first car to hit Cochran did not stop. The driver of the second car did remain on the scene, Figone said. Thrown to the ground, the woman was then hit by a second vehicle, according to Detective Tracy Figone. Wendy Cochran was attempting to cross Sunrise Boulevard through the center eastbound lane at 8:05 p.m. when she was hit by the right front bumper of a white 2014 or 2015 four-door Mazda, according to Fort Lauderdale police.
