FHP: Two killed in Leesburg crash identified

Two men killed in a Leesburg crash Tuesday evening have been identified as David Gossard, 77, of The Villages, and Charles Eversole, 72, of Leesburg, the Florida Highway Patrol said today. The two-vehicle crash occurred at 6:10 p.m. at U.S. Highway 27 and Highland Lakes Boulevard, FHP Sgt. Gossard and passenger Eversole were pronounced dead at the scene. The other passenger, Michael Galco, 70, of Leesburg, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, Montes said. Troopers closed the southbound lane of U.S. 27 as they investigated the crash.
