55-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Griffin Road in Leesburg, Florida

The 55-year-old man was walking at about 6:30 a.m. in the eastbound lane of Griffin Road, west of Pioneer Trail, when he was struck by a 2020 Volkswagen Passat driven by a 63-year-old Leesburg man who also had been eastbound on Griffin Road, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. He said he did not see the pedestrian.
