The Medical Examiner's Office said preliminary autopsy results indicated the cause of death was drowning.
Sarah Marx, 26, and her vehicle were pulled from the pond on Airport Road just after 11 a.m. after Marx's vehicle struck a light pole and crashed into the lake. Two citizens and police officers had attempted to pull her from the vehicle before it submerged in the lake, but were unsuccessful because of the lake's depth and limited visibility.
