Motorcyclist killed in early-morning crash in Tampa

One person was killed early Tuesday in a crash involving a motorcycle in Tampa. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 3 a.m. at US 301 and east Adamo Drive. The crash closed the northbound lanes of 301 and limited southbound traffic. Officials have not released any further information from the crash.

At about 3:15 a.m. the motorcyclist was driving a 2004 Yamaha west on State Road 60 with passenger Marissa Anne Hale, 18, of Riverview. When he turned north onto U.S. 301, he lost control and collided with the raised center median. The motorcycle overturned and the motorcycle came to rest in the inside lane of U.S. 301, where a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by Ejgu Chanie Marye, 46, of Riverview collided with the motorcycle. The man was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died. Hale was taken to St. Joseph'€™s Hospital. Ejgu Chanie Marye, 46, of Riverview, was not taken to a hospital.

The man, Isaac Heath, 33, was traveling west on Adamo Drive, making a right to head north on US 301. The slick roads may have been a major factor as a Toyota Camry hit the motorcycle and Heath was killed after losing control. Police confirmed he was not wearing a helmet.
