Dunedin man dies in motorcycle crash

Lawrence J. Silva and his passenger Laurel J. Silva, 59 were riding on a Kawasaki motorcycle and were unable to avoid crashing into Hertrich's truck. CLEARWATER, Fla. -- A 56-year-old Dunedin man was killed after he was thrown from his motorcycle after colliding with a truck that crossed into his oncoming path on U.S. Highway 19. Lawrence was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and suffered fatal injuries at the scene. According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, alcohol was not a factor in the crash and charges are pending. Hertrich suffered minor injuries and and was taken to Mease Countryside for treatment.
