Deputies: 3 dead after 3 vehicle crash in Polk County

The truck had a couple and their grandson in the car who were returning home from Busch Gardens. The couple was 54-year-old Luis Rodriguez and 52-year-old Jomar Maldonado from Port St. Lucie who both died. Their 3-year-old grandson Jaydn was strapped into his car seat in the backseat and survived. He was transported to a local hospital and expected to make a full recovery, according to a news release by the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Wieser and the Port St. Lucie couple died after the crash, according to officials. The 3-year-old was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

St. Lucie Public Schools said Maldonado was a teacher at West Gate K-8 School where she taught English to students who speak another language (ESOL).
