Kayla M. Bryant, 21, killed in car accident on State Road 33 in Lakeland, Florida

A 21-year-old Lakeland woman died Sunday night in a near head-on collision on State Road 33. Kayla M. Bryant was a passenger in a 2001 Ford Focus that was traveling west when an eastbound 2003 Toyota minivan traveled through a curve and entered the westbound lane. The vehicles collided almost head-on in the west lane. The driver of the Focus, as well as 3-year-old Austin Guy of Lakeland, and the driver of the mini-van, 55-year-old Dakshesh Patel, were taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
