Police officer injured in crash while responding to separate accident when his cruiser is struck by car at East Bay Drive and Belcher Road in Largo, Florida

Officer-involved crash in Largo

Heading to the crash scene, the officer was driving eastbound on East Bay Drive and was proceeding through the intersection at Belcher Rd. A white Dodge challenger with a female occupant was headed northbound on Belcher Rd. approaching East Bay at the same time. The driver of the Challenger was transported to Largo Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The officer's lights and sirens were on as he proceeded through the intersection.
