At around 2:36 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol stated in a news release that a Chevy Silverado, (year of model and color unknown) drove up onto the shoulder of U.S. Highway 19, near 49th Street East in Palmetto, and hit three people.

Pittard’s family is grieving. Pittard’s mother, Mindy O’Neill, died in January on that same stretch of road. The family says she was hit and killed on US 19 while riding her bike.
