According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at least one person was killed. The extent of any additional injuries is not yet known.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a Ford F-150 truck driven by a 43-year-old St. Petersburg man was eastbound on Gandy Boulevard about 9:49 a.m. The driver attempted to turn into a driveway access at 12025 Gandy Blvd. but was hit by a westbound Ford Mustang driven by an 18-year-old Brandon man.
