The accident occurred Monday around 7:55 p.m. as Cooper was walking in the eastbound lane of Golfview Drive near the shoulder of the roadway, the press release said.

Though reports about her condition have been inconsistent, Cooper is still listed in critical condition as of Tuesday, September 30 according to FHP. Brian Smith, 47, who was driving the car that struck Cooper, was uninjured.
