Jupiter car crash sends 8 to hospital, one in critical condition

“We had to do what's called an extended extrication using the Jaws of Life to get the mangled metal away from the occupant before getting him out and on the stretcher and in the Traumahawk,” said Doug McGlynn, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue district chief.
Eight people were taken to the hospital. One of the victims is in critical condition. Flashing lights and debris littered A1A near Center Street in Jupiter. Crews worked for almost an hour to extricate a victim from a car. Crews were called to the scene just before 8 p.m. The crash shut down the northbound and southbound lanes of A1A. Tequesta, Palm Beach Gardens and PBCFR crews are still at the scene. Jupiter police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
