At around 7 p.m. Saturday, Tyler Cohen, 22, was driving east on Gun Club Road on a Honda Ruckus scooter with passenger Naomi Pomerance, 16. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, the traffic light was red when Cohen drove through the intersection of Military Trail, and two northbound SUVs struck the scooter. Both Cohen and Pomerance were thrown from the vehicle, and neither was wearing a helmet. Both riders were rushed to a local hospital, where Pomerance was pronounced dead at 11 p.m. Cohen is in serious condition. Drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
