A 17-year-old Tifton High School student is dead after a Wednesday morning accident, said the Georgia State Patrol.

"It's not fair. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. You know, you have a loved one; you think they'd be safe on the way to school and then this happens," said Hernandez.

Austin King was skateboarding on Ferry Lake Drive when he was struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle's driver said that he didn't see King in the road, and according to troopers the weather was dark and foggy Wednesday morning. This accident is still under investigation.
