Tasia Gartner, 16, killed when hit-and-run driver strikes her on Ga. 81 in Henry County, Georgia
When the two attempted to cross the road, Ireland says Gartner was hit by a car in the westbound lane. The vehicle allegedly drove from the scene without stopping.
Tasia was involved in martial arts and was the first recipient of the Master Mitt Lenix Scholarship to pay for her future endeavors in karate. She had her entire future ahead of her and supportive parents, but was tragically cut short by a hit and run driver while she cross the street.
