Pallone was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe at around 4 p.m. in northern Georgia’s Cherokee County when a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction lost control, crossed the center line and struck the Hyundai, according to a news release from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
DUI driver pleads guilty to crash that killed longtime Bartow County mayor, wife
The driver arrested for causing the crash, William Bryan Abernathy of Calhoun, has now pleaded guilty to several charges, including two counts of vehicular manslaughter and DUI.
